Not just avant-garde, or minimalist, or ambient, or jazz, but a combination of all of these: the music of the Australian cult band The Necks is unique in the world today.
Featuring lengthy pieces of slow-form development which build in mesmerizing, epic fashion, frequently underpinned by an insistent deep groove, The Necks have enthralled audiences worldwide with their intense style of improvisation for the last twenty-five years, with fifteen albums documenting their inspired synergy.
Their music is suffused with warmth and humanity, studded with minor dramas on an epic journey to emotional fulfillment; the performances are never less than phenomenal. This is their first appearance at Bath International Music Festival.
